Thanks to the low-end efforts of the two teams, many dramatic events have occurred in the third ODI determined between England and Australia. England recovered from 0/2 to 67/2 in the first storm and then collapsed to 96/4. But the 50-somethings of Billings and Woakes and the tons of Bairstow helped England exceed 300 points. For the Australians, chasing is impossible because they lost five points to 73.
The following are record-breaking efforts by the middle and lower classes in England and Australia:
1-The Manchester ODI on Wednesday became the first game in ODI history to witness as many as 4 players scoring more than 50 points, and their field goal percentage ranked 6th or lower. Sam Billings (57) and Alex Carey (106) ranked sixth, while Chris Woakes (53*) and Glenn Maxwell (108) ranked seventh.
2-This game is also the second game in ODI history. Two players with No. 6 or below hit hundreds. Mahela Jayawardene and MS Dhoni also scored centuries when they ranked 6th and 7th respectively in the 2007 Chennai ODI competition between Asia XI and Africa XI. In that game, Mahela and Dhoni both played for the Asian Eleven.
Carey and Maxwell’s total running points of 214 ranked sixth and seventh in the ODI winnings. The highest was Jayaward (107) and Doni (139*), who scored 246 in the 6th and 7th places in the 2007 Asian Cup ODI competition.
4-This series between England and Australia becomes the only third bilateral ODI series, which has 5 or lower ticket gates to record four centuries of booths. The other two are the ODI series (England) held in India in 2006 and the series between India and Australia in 2013. The first two instances occurred in a 7-game series, one game was abandoned but not abandoned.
212-The 212 slide booth between Carey and Maxwell was the first time ever to adopt a bi-century partnership in an ODI cricket game, ranking sixth or lower in the wicket. In the 2009 Benoni ODI competition, Zimbabwe’s Stuart Matsikenyeri and Tatenda Taibu played against South Africa. In the sixth or lower wicket competition, his highest score in the ODI game was 188. Overall, the Carey-Maxwell partnership is ranked sixth and third in ODI.
230-In the game where the fifth wicket was lost, Australia needed 230 more runs to win. This was the second place the team succeeded in catching up to ODI after losing the fifth wicket. In the 2007 Hamilton ODI game against Australia, New Zealand chased 231 games.
302/7-England became the first team in ODI history to score more than 300, even though they lost two wickets that did not run 0 goals on the board. Pakistan beat other teams 287/9 in the 2009 Abu Dhabi ODI against New Zealand, which was the highest ODI record for the team before. He was 0/2 before.
456-After losing the 4th wicket in this game, the two teams scored a total of 456 points. These are the most accumulated times since the fourth ticket gate fell in the ODI game. The previous record was 449 tests conducted during the 2007 Chennai ODI between Asia XI and Africa XI.
