Islamabad United Vs Multan Sultan
In the final match of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by four wickets at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket stadium.
Multan had set Islamabad a 150-run target after facing a batting collapse in the first innings.
Muhammad Akhlaq, the opening batsman for Islamabad, was dismissed by Multan’s Shahnawaz Dahani in the fifth over.
Dahani, who then came to bowl in the seventh over, removed the other opener, Umar Amin, and put United two down.
Then Muhammad Umar removed Islamabad captain Shadab Khan in the 13th over. However, the captain had done enough damage to put United on top.
By the end of the 15th over, Asif Ali and Hussain Talat had further reduced Islamabad’s deficit and put the side in complete control.
Islamabad needed only 16 runs from 24 balls after Usman Qadir dismissed Asif Ali in the 16th over.
In the 18th over, Qadir removed Brandon King, putting Islamabad five down and giving Multan some hope.
Qadir’s wicket-taking overs meant that Islamabad needed 8 runs from the last 12 balls.
Then Rizwan turned to his ace bowler Dahani. He ensured that his team wouldn’t go down without a fight, and he took the game to the last over.
In the last over, Islamabad needed 4 runs and were able to get those important runs.
Muzarabani took the wicket of Hussain Talat from the second ball of the last over to put United six down.
In the end, the Zimbabwean had too little to defend as Iftikhar Ahmed completed the win for Islamabad with one run off the second last ball of the match.
As a result, Islamabad defeated Multan by four wickets to win the league stage of the PSL.
Dahani and Qadir took two wickets each for Multan, while Muzarabani and Umar each took one wicket.

was bowled out by Islamabad for 149 runs in the last 10 overs of the innings due to their bowlers’ excellent performances.
For Multan, openers Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan gave the side a brilliant start.
Masood reached his half-century in the ninth over by hitting Shadab Khan for a six.
In the next over of the innings, he was dismissed for 59 runs by Iftikhar Ahmed. In addition, he scored the most runs for his team.
As of the 11th over, it looked like Multan would cruise to a huge total against Islamabad.
Fawad Ahmed bowled a double-wicket over in the 12th over to remove Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood. Shadab removed Rilee Rossow to reduce Multan’s score to four.
Losing the three quick wickets tilted the game in Islamabad’s favor.
Hammad Azam and Johnson Charles forged a good partnership after the loss to take their side to the end of the 20 overs.
Their plans were thwarted by the bowlers from Islamabad.
Mohammad Wasim removed Azam with a caught and bowled from the first ball of the 18th over, while Faheem Ashraf dismissed Azam with a caught and bowled from the last ball of the 17th over.
Multan were six down with just two overs left in their innings after the dismissals exposed their tail.
In the second last over, Faheem removed Usman Qadir, further bringing Multan to an end.
Islamabad’s Wasim took Multan’s last three wickets in the last over of the innings to restrict Multan to 149 runs.
Islamabad’s Wasim ended with four wickets, Faheem and Fawad both with two wickets, and Shadab and Iftikhar ended with one wicket each.
Islamabad decided to field first against Multan before the match began.
