In the previous season, Islamabad United had missed its best all-rounder Andre Russell (West Indian) because of a doping test ban. So, Shadab Khan (leg-spinner) had come into the tournament. They also replaced the Windies leg-spinner Samuel Badree and Pakistani seamer Mohammad Sami.

During the 2018 season of PSL, Islamabad United also added South African all-rounder JP Duminy. Also, bring some other players from its squad named Aussie and Kiwi keeper Luke Ronchi.

They also pick the Hasnain who is an under-19 fast bowler but he was injured during the tournament. So, that’s why he was not featured in the few matches. Not only this, in between the tournament Andre Russell also injured in the match against Karachi Kings on March 4.
