Despite the violation of the spirit of the game, the “Mankading” rule still exists in the rule book, and players have the right to use the rule. However, part of the cricket fraternity still questions the validity of the rules on a moral basis.
In the third ODI between England and Australia in Manchester, speed racer Mitchell Starc had a compelling opportunity to launch “Mankading”. But Starc avoided doing this and instead issued a panic and warning to Adil Rashid when there was no forward.
The incident occurred in the penultimate game of “One Day International”, when Stark suddenly withdrew from his ranks and asked Rashid to return to him. In the third delivery, he was slammed by Rashid to 6, Starc had a chance to “Mankad” on the fifth ball. However, the problem of speed racing is solved by issuing warnings to leg movers.

Although the first two deliveries were successful, Starc still returned with a number of 3/74. After inverting the wickets of Jason Roy and Joe Root for the first two goals, the Australian Express team started a hat trick. After Starc showed Roy the export gate, England replied with the first delivery.
The British corkscrew fought and gave it directly to Glenn Maxwell when he fell behind. After Starc got into trouble again in subsequent deliveries, England’s suffering intensified, and he trapped Root in front with a full-length ball. The 30-year-old Stark later pitched three games to all-around player Tom Curran later in the game.
At the same time, England scored a challenging 302/7 on the scoreboard. After losing the early wicket, Jonny Bairstow defeated an impressive 112 people and laid the foundation. In addition to Bairstow’s outstanding performance, Sam Billings (57) and Chris Woakes (53*) also helped England break through 300 points.
After a 24 win in the second ODI, the host England will aim for the third and final game to win three games. Since the resumption of cricket after the COVID-19 interruption, this aspect of Eoin Morgan’s leadership is currently on the verge of sealing other series. England has already included the previous T20I series 2-1.
