Pakistan Super League 2021
Defending champions Karachi King and Quetta Gladiators selected New Zealand opener Martin Guppedil and West India all-around player Andre Russell. They participated in the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League 2021 (PSL) in the foreign player substitution trials on Tuesday. Games remaining.
In an online meeting held last night, franchise representatives submitted the names of their selected players to replace the names of players who could not appear in the upcoming game.
Bangladesh star all-rounders Shakib-al-Hasan (Lahore Qalandars) and Mahmudullah Riyad (Multan Sultans) and Australia’s top hitter Usman Khawaja (Islamabad United) are the other rookies in the first round of the replacement process.
PSL 6 was postponed after 14 games on March 4 this year because of a Covid-19 outbreak reported in the biosecurity bubble of the game. The remaining 20 games of the sixth tournament will be held at the Karachi National Stadium from June 1st to 20th.
The team submitted a total of 19 draft picks. Peshawar Zalmi, “Gladiator” and Manchester United chose to retain one pick each and will submit these names at a later stage. The three teams can choose the player who is closer to the rest of the game or wins the silver medal in the rest of the game.
In the “Diamond” category, the King nominated Sri Lanka all-around player Thisara Perera and Afghan batsman Najeebullah Zadran. South African batsman Janneneman Malan (Janneneman Malan) was nominated by Manchester United. Zalmi chose West Indian all-around player Fabian Allen, while Kalandas chose Australian fast player James Faulkner.
In the gold category, Qalandars nominated Joe Burns of Australia, Rovman Powell of West India was nominated by Zalmi, and Multan Sultans submitted the name of Afghan goalkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
In the Silver Round, the wind pacemaker Fidel Edwards was nominated by Zalmi, followed by George Linde of Sultans, Kings )’S Litton Das and Qalandars’s Australian batter Callum Ferguson.
In the supplementary round of the draft, Sudan and Lahore Galandas nominated Obed McCoy and Seekkugge Prasanna respectively.
At the same time, in the June game of HBL PSL 6, each team needs to send a minimum of two and a maximum of four foreign players in its 11 games.
