Karachi Kings Vs Islamabad United
On Wednesday, defending champions Karachi Kings and Islamabad United set several new records in the sixth game of the HBL Pakistan Premier League (PSL) in 2021.
Although Manchester United succeeded in chasing 197 goals, but lost five wickets without any batsman going into half a century, but the Karachi King’s game included Sharjeel Khan’s 100 and Babar Azam’s half a century.
The Kings duo earned 176 points for the partnership at the first wicket, the highest of any wicket in PSL history. The previous record also concerns Babar, who scored 157 points in the first door-checking partnership with Liam Livingstone against Multan Sultans in 2019.
This is the seventh position in league history involving Babar, making him the player with the most centuries of partnership contributions in PSL.
The 26-year-old player scored 62 under 54 goals and also increased his total PSL score to more than 1,600. He scored 1,602 runs in 47 innings and is now the highest scorer in PSL history, followed by Kamran Akmal, who has 1,579 runs in 57 innings.
At the same time, Shajir’s century against Manchester United is ninth in the PSL scoring list. That was his second century. Earlier, he scored 117 points in the first PSL for Islamabad United (PSL).
The 31-year-old is the only player after Akmal to score more than a century on PSL. The latter has three centuries in its name, while Sharjeel has two centuries. Colin Ingram, Cameron Delport, Rilee Rossouw and Chris Lynn are the other centurions in the game.
