Pakistan Super League 2021
The remaining edition of PSL 2021 is all set to take place in Abu Dhabi.
In contrast to the last edition, the final edition of PSL 2021 will take place in Abu Dhabi, and players have been traveling to make it a success. In the same case, former Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was all set to travel to Abu Dhabi with 15 other players but he was not allowed to travel and had to return to his hotel. Only five players from Quetta Gladiators were able to travel on a commercial flight on May 29.
Ahmed is quite irate about the situation and has expressed his irritation to the PCB. It has been stated that the owner of the GLADIATORS, Nadeem Omar, did not like the ineptitude displayed by the PCB this time around, and he did not protest in order to save the league’s reputation. Due to a limited time period, there will be a lot of doubleheaders in the remaining editions. The board has yet to announce the schedule for the remaining edition.
In the sweltering heat of the UAE, players will face intense matches in a short period. PCB is still trying to arrange charter flights for their players while they wait for clearance from PCB.
PCB comes up with stricter rules for PSL 2021
PCB has also cleared the hard quarantine protocols for the players set to compete in the remaining edition of PSL 2021. The first session was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19 cases. The league was eventually terminated due to severe bio bubble breaches reported. The board has, however, categorized the breach into three sections to be more stringent this time
For minor and major breaches of match officials, players could be banned from 2-3 matches and their fees could be deducted by up to 75 percent. On the other hand, if someone steps outside the bio bubble, they can be banned from up to four matches and have their match fees deducted by up to 100 percent. The remaining edition will be interesting to see.
